Mike Baur is a renowned Swiss entrepreneur and businessman. He was born and raised up in the Fribourg region. Mike is the co-founder and the Executive chairman of the Swiss Startup Factory. Mike Baur has been in the banking sector for over twenty years, a thing that has granted him huge experience and exposure that he needed to grow his start up. He has worked for some of the big Swiss Private banks such as the Clariden Leu and UBS.
While he was growing up, Mike Baur was fascinated by Banking subjects and generally how to handle finances. He launched his career by working in the private banking sector where he used to offer loans to start-ups and offer valuable advice to the budding entrepreneurs. He managed to guide a huge number of start-up businesses that are now doing well in Switzerland.
In 2014, Mike Baur kick-started his entrepreneurial journey while he was only 39 years of age. Mike joined hands with Max Mister and Oliver Walzer to co-find the Swiss Startup factory. The company is currently considered as the leading privately funded and independent ICT-based accelerator in Switzerland.
Since the time he was working in the private sector, Mike Baur has always dedicated his life towards creating entrepreneurship programs that would help the young people interested in entrepreneurship. He has acted as a mentor and also went out of his way to provide financing for various startups in the country.
Besides the executive chairman of the Swiss startup, Mike Baur serves as the Co-founder and the Director of the Swiss Startup Association. Mike Baur was also a jury member at the START Summiteer. Start Summiteer is a pitching contest business startups that are held by the University of St. Gallen. Mike Baur was given the Deputy Manager title when Swiss Startup partnered with CTI Invest in the start of 2016.
Swiss Start factory was founded in 2014 by Mike Baur and his two colleagues as an accelerator company based in Zurich. The firm focuses on giving digital entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their businesses by allowing them access to financing and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs.
